dormakaba pextra Q, pextra+, pextra, and AP 2000 are premium serrated mechanical master key systems designed to provide high-security access control for residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial buildings. The patented pextra Q and pextra+ systems offer enhanced protection against unauthorized key duplication through patented key profiles and security card authorization, while all systems feature five to seven pin locking mechanisms, additional side elements, brass cylinder bodies, and nickel silver keys for exceptional security and durability. Certified in accordance with EN 1303, DIN 18252, EN 1634-1, EN 1634-2, and RoHS 2011/65/EU, the cylinders achieve Attack Resistance Class C, with Class D available using reinforced configurations. Manufactured in Herzogenburg, Austria, the product consists primarily of 70% brass, 22% nickel silver, 7% steel, and 1% plastic, weighs 0.264 kg including three keys and accessories, and is tested to 100,000 locking cycles, providing an expected service life of 10–15 years.
The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is prepared in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A2 and is independently verified by the Institut Bauen und Umwelt (IBU). The declaration follows a cradle-to-gate with options life cycle assessment covering A1–A3, A4, A5, C1–C4, and Module D, evaluating environmental impacts from raw material extraction, manufacturing, transportation, installation, end-of-life processing, and recycling potential. The pextra Q mechanical key system has a Global Warming Potential (GWP A1–A3) of 0.691 kg CO₂e per cylinder set, incorporates 0.181 kg of secondary (recycled) material, and is designed for 100% collection, with approximately 0.224 kg recovered for recycling at the end of its service life. The EPD provides transparent, independently verified life-cycle environmental data to support LEED, BREEAM, and ESG reporting.
