dormakaba BEST 1C Series is a high-security interchangeable lock core engineered to deliver reliable performance, durability, and simplified key management for commercial and institutional applications. Manufactured from a solid brass alloy construction, the BEST 1C Series enables users to remove and rekey the core without removing the lever, reducing maintenance time while maintaining high security. The product complies with ANSI/BHMA A156.5 Grade 1, BAA/TAA, and UL requirements, making it suitable for commercial buildings, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, government buildings, and other high-security environments. Manufactured in Indianapolis, USA, the lock core is composed primarily of 93% brass, 3% steel, and 2% paper, weighs 0.0449 kg, and is certified to ANSI/BHMA Grade 1, providing a minimum of 40,000 operating cycles for dependable long-term performance.
The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is prepared in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A2 and is independently verified by the Institut Bauen und Umwelt (IBU). The declaration follows a cradle-to-gate with options life cycle assessment covering A1–A3, A4, A5, C1–C4, and Module D, evaluating environmental impacts from raw material extraction, manufacturing, transportation, installation, end-of-life processing, and recycling potential. The BEST 1C Series has a Global Warming Potential (GWP A1–A3) of 0.31 kg CO₂e per lock core, contains 0.045 kg of secondary (recycled) material, and is designed for 100% collection and recycling at the end of its service life.
