dormakaba Saffire LX Series is a contemporary RFID-enabled electronic hotel and multi-housing lock designed to provide secure, flexible, and convenient access control for guest rooms, residential units, and common areas. Featuring Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology, the lock supports both RFID credentials and mobile access through the BlueSky mobile access platform, allowing users to unlock doors using smartphones or RFID key fobs. Its sleek, modern design integrates seamlessly with hospitality and residential interiors while offering left/right reversible handling, support for door thicknesses up to 66 mm, 4,000-event audit memory, and battery-powered operation using three AA batteries. Suitable for hotels, serviced apartments, student accommodation, and multi-housing developments, the Saffire LX Series is manufactured in Montreal, Canada and complies with ANSI A156.13, ANSI A156.25, UL 10C, ULC S-104, EN 12209, EN 1634-1, EN 1363-1, RoHS, and REACH requirements. Designed for long-term durability, it offers a 10-year reference service life and is tested to BHMA A156.13 for a minimum of 1,000,000 operating cycles.
The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is prepared in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A2 and follows a cradle-to-gate with options life cycle assessment covering A1–A3, A4, A5, B2, C1–C4, and Module D. Independently verified by the Institut Bauen und Umwelt (IBU), the declaration evaluates environmental impacts from raw material extraction, manufacturing, transportation, installation, battery replacement during the use phase, end-of-life processing, and recycling potential.
