dormakaba Digital Cylinder is a wireless electronic locking cylinder designed to provide secure, flexible, and cable-free access control for both internal and external doors. As part of the dormakaba evolo standalone portfolio, the digital cylinder features visual and acoustic access signals, modular removable knobs for quick installation, and battery-powered operation that eliminates the need for door cabling. Suitable for wooden, metal, glass, and fire-rated doors, the system offers a wide range of cylinder configurations to suit virtually any door application. Manufactured in Wetzikon, Switzerland using renewable electricity, the product combines brass, zinc, copper, stainless steel, steel, engineering plastics, and electronic components to deliver reliable performance with an IP56 protection rating, a 10-year reference service life, and certification to EN 15684 for a minimum of 100,000 operating cycles. It also complies with RED (2014/53/EU), RoHS (2011/65/EU), REACH, and carries CE marking.
The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is prepared in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A2 and follows a cradle-to-gate with options life cycle assessment covering A1–A3, A4, A5, B2, C1–C4, and Module D. Independently verified by the Institut Bauen und Umwelt (IBU), the declaration evaluates environmental impacts from raw material extraction, manufacturing, transportation, installation, battery replacement during the use phase, end-of-life processing, and recycling potential. Manufactured using renewable electricity, the Digital Cylinder provides verified life-cycle environmental transparency, high recyclability, and comprehensive environmental performance data to support sustainable building projects, green building certification, and ESG reporting.
