dormakaba Automatic Swing Door Operator ED 100 is a compact electromechanical automatic door operator designed for single- and double-leaf swing doors, delivering reliable, safe, and energy-efficient automated access. The operator can be installed as a push version with a standard arm or a pull version with a slide channel, while double-leaf configurations are supported through an integrated door coordinator and extended cover. The system offers Low-Energy and Full-Energy operating modes, supports internal and external doors, and is suitable for smoke and fire-rated doors. It accommodates door leaf weights up to 160 kg, door widths up to 1,100 mm, and is certified to EN 16005, ISO 13849-1, DIN 18650-1/2, EN 60335-1, RoHS 2011/65/EU, and the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. Manufactured in Ennepetal, Germany using 100% renewable electricity with Guarantees of Origin (GoO), the product consists primarily of 32% steel, 21% aluminium, 14% plastic, 14% zinc, 10% electronics, and 9% paper, has a reference service life of 10 years, and is tested for more than 1,000,000 operating cycles.
The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is prepared in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A2 and independently verified by the Institut Bauen und Umwelt (IBU). The declaration follows a cradle-to-gate with options life cycle assessment covering A1–A3, A4, A5, B6, C1–C4, and Module D, assessing environmental impacts from raw material extraction, manufacturing, transportation, installation, operational energy use, end-of-life processing, and recycling potential. The declared unit is one ED 100 automatic swing door operator, with a total reference mass of 13.11 kg including packaging. The product incorporates approximately 8.8 kg of secondary (recycled) material, is designed for 100% collection at end of life, with metals and electronic components recycled, plastics recovered through energy recovery, and reports a Global Warming Potential (GWP A1–A3) of 31.8 kg CO₂e per unit. The EPD provides transparent, independently verified life-cycle environmental data to support LEED, BREEAM, DGNB, and ESG reporting.
