dormakaba Argus 40 is a compact sensor barrier designed to provide secure, convenient, and aesthetically integrated pedestrian access control for modern buildings. Featuring a sleek 1,200 mm cabinet length and polycarbonate swing barriers, the Argus 40 is ideal for installations with limited space while maintaining reliable safety and smooth user flow. The system is suitable for office and administrative buildings, government facilities, banks, financial institutions, industrial buildings, schools, and universities. Manufactured in Bühl, Germany using green electricity with a Guarantee of Origin (GoO), the Argus 40 combines aluminium, steel, electronics, plastics, and engineered components to deliver reliable operation, durability, and a 20-year reference service life, certified for a minimum of 1,000,000 operating cycles in accordance with EN 16005.
The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is prepared in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A2 and follows a cradle-to-gate with options life cycle assessment covering A1–A3, A4, A5, B6, C1–C4, and Module D. Independently verified by the Institut Bauen und Umwelt (IBU), the declaration evaluates environmental impacts across raw material extraction, manufacturing, transportation, installation, operational energy use, end-of-life processing, and recycling potential. The Argus 40 is manufactured using 100% green electricity, incorporates verified life-cycle environmental data, and supports sustainable building projects through environmental transparency, long service life, and high recyclability.
