Low-Carbon Impact Material
Formica High Pressure Laminates are decorative surfacing materials manufactured by layering kraft paper saturated with phenolic resin to form the core and decorative papers saturated with melamine resin for the surface layers. These layers are consolidated under high pressure and temperatures of approximately 300°F, resulting in a durable thermoset laminate. The product is designed for countertops, tabletops, casework, wall panels, and decorative architectural surfaces, offering high resistance to wear, impact, stains, and heat. Residual monomers are present only in trace amounts (<7.3 ppb) as verified under the GREENGUARD Gold testing protocol. The laminates are GREENGUARD Gold certified for low VOC emissions, FSC® Chain of Custody certified, and compliant with NSF/ANSI 35 for food-service work surfaces. Material contents are disclosed down to 100 ppm in accordance with HPD Open Standard v2.3 and are pre-checked for LEED v4 and v4.1 – Material Ingredients (Options 1 & 2
