dormakaba BTS 65 is an economical floor spring designed for double-action doors, offering reliable performance with a particularly shallow installation depth that simplifies installation while maintaining excellent durability. Available in EN 3 and EN 4 spring strengths, the BTS 65 features hydraulic fully controlled closing from approximately 130°, adjustable closing speed, and a practical clamp fixing system for secure and precise installation within the cement box. Suitable for commercial buildings, offices, hotels, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and public buildings, the floor spring complies with EN 1154 and EN 1634-1 for both standard and fire-rated doors. Manufactured in Suzhou, China, the product consists primarily of 89% steel, 5% zinc, 3% lubricant, 2% paper, and 1% aluminium, weighs 4.1 kg, and provides a 20-year reference service life, certified for a minimum of 500,000 operating cycles. The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is prepared in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A2 and is independently verified by the Institut Bauen und Umwelt (IBU). The declaration follows a cradle-to-gate with options life cycle assessment covering A1–A3, A4, A5, C1–C4, and Module D, assessing environmental impacts from raw material extraction, manufacturing, transportation, installation, end-of-life processing, and recycling benefits. The BTS 65 demonstrates a Global Warming Potential (GWP A1–A3) of 11.8 kg CO₂e per floor spring, supports 100% collection and recycling at end of life, and provides transparent life-cycle environmental data to support LEED, BREEAM, and other sustainable building certification schemes
