Low-Carbon Impact Material
Modernfold Acousti-Seal Encore Partitions are high-performance movable wall systems designed to provide flexible space division with excellent acoustic performance, achieving Sound Transmission Class (STC) ratings up to 56. The system features a robust 4-inch steel-framed panel construction with vertical and horizontal steel members and incorporates the SureSet™ automatic top and bottom seal mechanism to maximize acoustic sealing. Available in fabric, vinyl, and carpet finishes, the partitions are offered in single, paired, and automated configurations, making them ideal for commercial offices, educational facilities, healthcare buildings, hospitality venues, convention centres, and multipurpose spaces. Manufactured in Dyersville, Iowa, USA, the panels are composed primarily of 42% steel, 29% gypsum, 18% plastics, 8% aluminium, 2% fabric, and 1% other materials, weigh approximately 52.39 kg/m², provide an airborne sound reduction of 54 dB, and have a reference service life of 25 years. The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is prepared in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A2 and is independently verified by the Institut Bauen und Umwelt (IBU). The declaration follows a cradle-to-gate with options life cycle assessment covering A1–A3, A4, A5, C1–C4, and Module D, evaluating environmental impacts from raw material extraction, manufacturing, transportation, installation, end-of-life processing, and recycling potential. The Acousti-Seal Encore Partition has a Global Warming Potential (GWP A1–A3) of 114 kg CO₂e per m², incorporates approximately 23 kg of secondary (recycled) material, and is designed for 100% collection for recycling, with metals recovered through recycling and other materials directed to energy recovery or appropriate disposal at the end of their service life. The EPD provides transparent, independently verified life-cycle environmental data to support LEED, BREEAM, and ESG reporting.
